The Amsterdam Case Competition
Twelve teams from top universities competing on real business challenges
During ACC, teams assess and analyze real business problems that organisations face today, conducting thorough research, developing innovative solutions and presenting their ideas in front of a jury board consisting of leading business professionals and academic experts. In order to succeed, teams need to work well as a unit, be open to new approaches, and deliver their results compellingly to win the judges over. The competition week provides an ideal environment to push students to level up their creative thinking and prove themselves on an international stage.
The annual Amsterdam Case Competition will be held from March 9th to March 16th.
We are excited to meet you at ACC 2027!
8-hour case
Three divisions, one winning team
Teams are randomly divided into three divisions of four. In the preliminary rounds, each division presents to a separate panel of judges, who evaluate the performances based on the predefined judging criteria. The best team from each division advances to the final round, where the three best teams have the opportunity to compete for the win. During the case, efficient time use and fast thinking are key to succeeding within the short time frame.
24-hour case
The most challenging format in the competition
This is where the real challenge begins. Teams are given complex business cases and expected to conduct detailed analysis and develop thorough solutions that dive deep into the company and situation at hand, all within 24 hours. Designed to push teams to their limits, the case follows the same format as the 8-hour case: three divisions, with every team presenting their solution and the top team from each division advancing to the final round. The final will be the highlight of the competition, determining the overall ACC winner. The 8-hour case result does not affect the 24-hour case judging.
ACC is more than a competition
During the intense case solving week, we believe it is important to also experience the culture that Amsterdam has to offer. From a scenic boat trip and social drinks to other cultural activities, participants and faculty advisers will get to see why Amsterdam is considered one of the most lively cities in Europe. Here, the city isn’t just another competition location. It is an experience in itself, one that will leave lasting memories.
The exact schedule for ACC 2027 will be released soon.
Over the last years, the Amsterdam Case Competition has been proud to partner with companies that make a difference and are leaders in their industries across the globe. In 2024, we collaborated with Hilton Hotels and AB InBev as our main case sponsors, while Bluefield, Innopay, Amazon and Gupta Strategists led workshops, boosting participants’ skills for successful solutions. The 2026 ACC welcomed new faces to the competition, with Dunkin’ and Jack Links as our partners for the 8-hour and 24-hour cases respectively, delivering complex cases to our participants. Each year, our main case partners play an integral role in making the Amsterdam Case Competition possible, giving participants the opportunity to engage with real-world business challenges companies face today. We are grateful to work with such diverse companies who support and develop the next generation of consultants.
